Best Practices

Useful information about ALTA’s Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices.

The CFPB has released its final rule for the new integrated mortgage disclosure. The rule integrates forms required under the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA) and the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA). The closing process with change significantly as the Loan Estimate will replace the current Good Faith Estimate and early Truth-in-Lending disclosure, while a Closing Disclosure will replace the HUD-1 and final Truth-in-Lending. The CFPB has given an implementation date of August 1, 2015. The new rule, comments, and guidelines can be found in the Best Practices section of our library.
